Fishing

We are fortunate to be well located for well known rivers such as the Spey, Findhorn and the Avon whilst fishing is also available on many smaller tributaries and lochs in the area.

The Badenoch Angling Association provides the opportunity for local fishing on the Spey and some lochs and their website provides details including where to buy permits.

Golf

Located on the doorstep of Einich is Newtomore Golf Course, which is 18 holes playing to 6,041 yards and is set in wonderful countryside running along the edge of the River Spey.

Further afield there are numerous other golf courses including Kingussie which offers moderately easy walking on upland terrain with a few short climbs on a couple of the holes.

Museums

The Highland Folk Museum located on the edge of Newtonmore looks at Highland life in the 1700’s, how houses were built, how they farmed and how they dressed. It offers the opportunity to look at collections on display, activities and interactive learning.

Located in the centre of Newtonmore the Clan Macpherson Museum is an ideal opportunity to discover more about this Highland Clan and its long history.

Snow Sports

Aviemore is well known for its snow sports where skiing, snowboarding, sledging and terrain park are available depending on conditions. There are runs to suit all levels of experience, and locations for equipment hire and lessons.

Walking

On the doorstep of Einich, and in the surrounding area, there is wonderful walking in the Cairngorms. For something a little bit different why not follow the Wildcat Trail around Newtonmore which will take you by the Spey and up the glens. Water Sports

In Newtonmore there is a company which offers trips in open kayaks down the River Spey. At Loch Insh there is the ability to hire equipment or take courses on various water sport activities including sailing, canoeing and wind surfing.

Wildlife

The Highlands is a wonderful location for wildlife which also includes red squirrels, red deer and grouse.

A short drive outside Newtonmore there is the Highland Wildlife Park, which includes endangered species from the mountains and the tundra from around the world one of these being the resident Polar bear called Mercedes!

At Insh Marshes there is a RSPB Nature Reserve and approximately 30 minutes from Newtonmore is Loch Garten, home to Ospreys.

Tennis and Bowls
